The Secretary for Security, Mr Lai Tung-kwok, will visit Canada from November 2 to 7. He will depart for Toronto tomorrow evening (November 2).
During his stay in Toronto, Mr Lai will meet with officials from the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services of Ontario, Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada, Canada Border Services Agency as well as Refugee Law Office of Legal Aid Ontario.
Mr Lai will speak at a business luncheon and meet with students and Hong Kong people living and working there.
Mr Lai will proceed to Vancouver in the afternoon on November 5. He will deliver a key-note speech at a breakfast meeting with representatives from different sectors of the community, and have dialogues with students as well as Hong Kong community in Vancouver.
Mr Lai will depart Vancouver on November 7 and return to Hong Kong in the morning on November 8.
