Emack & Bolio's, an American ice-cream brand with rock and roll roots from Boston, announced today (October 30) that it has opened its first store in Hong Kong, bringing its hippie ice-cream concept to the city.

Located in downtown Central, Emack & Bolio's offers over 30 flavour combinations of ice-creams, sorbets and frozen yoghurts served in its signature flavoured cones for sweet lovers, plus hand-crafted ice-cream cakes, freshly blended smoothies, milkshakes, chocolates and a selection of hot and cold beverages, according to the CEO of Emack & Bolio's HK Limited, Mr James Gibson.

He said, "I couldn't be more proud and excited to bring Emack & Bolio's to Hong Kong - a city that demands and deserves the very best. The international environment of Hong Kong is another big appeal as we can promote our brand further in Asia from this city."

Founder of Emack & Bolio's Mr Bob Rook, who is a music and civil rights lawyer, said, "Emack & Bolio's is thrilled to be welcomed so warmly by the good people of Hong Kong. Thank you for your hospitality. Hong Kong, you rock!"

The Director of Emack & Bolio's HK Limited, Mr Raymond Shuai, added, "We chose to set up in Hong Kong because people here appreciate innovation in foods, and the city is a great launch pad into Mainland China, Macau and other parts of Asia."

Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion Dr Jimmy Chiang welcomed the opening of Emack & Bolio's in Hong Kong and said, "Emack & Bolio's will add to the diversity of the food industry in Hong Kong while benefiting directly from the city's booming tourism and food and beverage sectors. We welcome its landing in our economy and wish it every success in Hong Kong and beyond."
