The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:
Regarding an accident involving a high-speed craft in the waters off Siu A Chau yesterday evening (October 25), the spokesperson for the Hospital Authority (HA) made the following wrap-up announcement today (October 26):
Having received the notification of the Fire Services Department on the marine accident yesterday evening, the HA immediately activated the Major Incident Control Centre to co-ordinate and respond to the incident. A total of seven public hospitals (Queen Mary Hospital, Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital, Ruttonjee and Tang Shiu Kin Hospitals, Caritas Medical Centre and Kwong Wah Hospital) were co-ordinated and deployed to receive and treat 124 casualties in their Accident and Emergency Departments.
The appendix provides the final wrap-up on the distribution and condition of the 124 casualties (as at 11am today).
