Wounding case in Sheung Shui reclassified as attempted murder

     Police today (October 24) reclassified a wounding case in Sheung Shui yesterday (October 23) as attempted murder.
 
     About 1.24pm yesterday, patrolling police officers received a report from a 57-year-old male taxi driver that a couple was injured after having dispute in his taxi outside Sheung Shui Station.
 
     Police at scene found a 46-year-old woman lying unconsciously in the compartment with neck injuries. Upon initial investigation, officers arrested her 45-year-old husband for wounding in the taxi. The duo was sent to North District Hospital for medical treatment.
 
     A belt was seized at scene. Initial investigations revealed that the man was suspected to have attacked his wife with the belt and attempted to commit suicide afterwards.
 
     Active investigations by the District Crime Squad of Tai Po are under way.
