Homicide in Tin Sum

     Police are investigating a homicide case in Tin Sum in the small hours of today (October 19) in which a 67-year-old woman died.

     About 3.30am, Police received a report from a 39-year-old man who claimed that he had killed his mother inside a unit in Green Heron House, Sha Kok Estate.

     Police officers sped to the scene and located a 67-year-old woman lying unconsciously on the bed in the unit. Sustaining injuries to her neck, chest and back, the woman was rushed to the Prince of Wales Hospital and was certified dead at 4.09am.

     The 39-year-old man was arrested for homicide and is being detained for further enquiries.

     A pair of scissors in suspected connection with the case was seized in the unit.

     A post mortem examination will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death of the deceased.

     Investigations by the District Crime Squad of Sha Tin District are underway.
