Clinic services during Chung Yeung Festival
*******************************************

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

The Hospital Authority (HA) today (October 19) announced that the 12 holiday general out-patient clinics (GOPCs - see appended list) will remain open on the coming Chung Yeung Festival holiday on Wednesday (October 21). Members of the public are reminded to make advance booking through the telephone system as usual for appointments with the clinics.

The HA spokesman added that the Accident and Emergency (A&E) Departments in public hospitals will also operate as usual during the holiday to treat patients requiring urgent medical attention. In anticipation of a higher demand for A&E services by the general public during the holiday, a well-established triage system is in place to ensure priority treatment for patients in critical or emergency condition while semi-urgent or non-urgent patients might have to wait longer before receiving treatment.

The HA spokesman appealed to patients for understanding and co-operation while waiting at the A&E Departments.

The public information on holiday clinic services within the districts will be posted at prominent locations in all A&E Departments. Members of the public are also welcome to call the HA Infoline (2882 4866) for the service information on holiday GOPCs, or browse the Primary Care Directory of the Department of Health at www.pcdirectory.gov.hk, or download the mobile app "Primary Care Directory" to choose an appropriate family medicine doctor and view related clinic service information.
