Operating hours of DH's hotline for enquiries about lead and its health effects to be adjusted
************************************************************

A spokesman for the Department of Health (DH) said today (October 18) that the department's hotline (2125 1122) for public enquiries about lead and its health effects will have its operating hours adjusted from tomorrow (October 19) due to low utilisation rate.

Starting from tomorrow, the hotline will operate from 9am to 6pm between Monday and Friday and from 9am to 1pm on Saturday to receive enquiries. It will be diverted to the Government hotline 1823 after operating hours.

The spokesman said that the arrangement was made in view of the decrease in the number of calls received by the hotline.

"The hotline received less than 10 enquiries per day in the past week. As such, the operating hours will be adjusted to better utilise manpower resources," he said.

As at 5pm today, the DH hotline has received 7 786 enquiries and arranged 5 245 appointments for blood testing since its set up in the evening of July 10, 2015.
