Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Sau Mau Ping this morning (October 17) in which a 57-year-old woman died.
About 8.32am, when a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) driven by a 54-year-old man was entering a construction site on Anderson Road, it reportedly knocked down the 57-year-old woman.
The woman was trapped under the HGV and rescued by firemen. Sustaining multiple injuries, she was rushed to United Christian Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 9.14am.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East are underway.
