Wounding in Sham Shui Po reclassified as murder

     Police today (October 16) reclassified a wounding case in Sham Shui Po on October 9 as murder.
 
     At about 9.15pm on that day, Police received a report that an injured man was found on Kweilin Street in Sham Shui Po. Police officers sped to the scene and located the 47-year-old man who sustained multiple injuries to his head and legs. He was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital in semi-conscious state.
 
     After initial investigations, Police arrested a 42-year-old man in Sham Shui Po for wounding on October 12. He was holding charged with one count of wounding and appeared before Kowloon City Magistrates¡¦ Courts on October 14.
 
     The injured man was certified dead at 2.25pm today. Post-mortem examinations will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death of the deceased.
 
     Active investigations by the Regional Crime Unit of Kowloon West are underway.
