Fifteen building plans approved in August

     The Buildings Department approved 15 building plans in August, with four on Hong Kong Island, three in Kowloon and eight in the New Territories.

     Of the approved plans, seven were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, four were for commercial developments and four were for community services developments.

     In the same month, consent was given for work to start on 12 building projects that, when completed, will provide 117 470 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 1 353 units, and 37 208 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of work for 16 building projects.

     The department also issued 22 occupation permits, with four on Hong Kong Island, five in Kowloon and 13 in the New Territories.

     Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor area for domestic use was 41 824 sq m, involving 498 units, and 104 083 sq m was for non-domestic use.

     The declared cost of new buildings completed in August totalled about $4 billion.

     In addition, 13 demolition consents involving 13 building structures were issued.

     The department received 3 847 reports about unauthorised building works in August, and issued 1 966 removal orders on unauthorised works.
