The Financial Secretary, Mr John C Tsang, today (October 8, Eastern Standard Time) concluded his visit in Washington, DC.
Mr Tsang met with the US Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade, Mr Stefan Selig, in the morning. Both sides said they looked forward to strengthening economic and investment ties between Hong Kong and the US.
A visit to the National Harbour near Washington, a multi-use waterfront development, came after the meeting.
Tomorrow (October 9, Lima time) Mr Tsang will attend the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group in Lima, Peru as a member of the Chinese delegation.
Mr Tsang's visit to New York and Washington, DC, was intended to forge closer ties with the business sector and US officials, with a view to further promoting trade between Hong Kong and the US.
