Police appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in Cheung Sha Wan

     Police today (October 7) appealed to the public for information on a fatal traffic accident in Cheung Sha Wan on September 20 in which an 87-year-old woman died.

     At about 9.10am on that day, a light goods vehicle driven by a 31-year-old man was travelling along southwest bound Pratas Street. When turning right into Shun Ning Road, it reportedly knocked down the woman who was crossing the road.

     Sustaining head injuries, the woman was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital in unconscious state. She was certified dead at 3.30am on September 25.

     The driver was arrested for causing death by dangerous driving. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries and is required to report back to Police in mid-November.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West are underway.
