The Secretary for Transport and Housing, Professor Anthony Cheung Bing-leung, will depart for Cebu, the Philippines, tomorrow (October 8) to attend the 9th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Transportation Ministerial Meeting.
Transportation ministers and senior officials from the 21 APEC economies will discuss a wide range of issues with a focus on driving economic growth through inclusive mobility and sustainable transport systems.
Professor Cheung will give presentations at both the panel session on advancing inclusive mobility and the panel session on investing in resilient infrastructure, to share with participants Hong Kong's relevant policies, strategies and experiences.
Professor Cheung will return to Hong Kong on Saturday afternoon (October 10). During his absence, the Under Secretary for Transport and Housing, Mr Yau Shing-mu, will be the Acting Secretary for Transport and Housing.
