The Labour Department (LD) will hold a public talk entitled "Shift Work and Occupational Health" on October 8 (Thursday). The talk will discuss the occupational safety and health effects of shift work on employees. Some appropriate preventive measures, which could be taken in making shift arrangements or during work shifts to protect employees' occupational health, will also be introduced.
The talk will be held at 6.30pm in Activity Room 1, Hong Kong Central Library, 66 Causeway Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. The LD's Occupational Health Nurse will give the talk.
The LD will hold another talk entitled "Occupational Safety and Health for Confined Space Workers" on October 15 (Thursday). The talk will discuss occupational safety and health hazards and preventive measures of working in confined spaces to enhance workers' awareness of the issues.
The talk will be held at 3pm in the Health Education Room of the LD's Occupational Safety and Health Centre, G/F, Kwun Tong Community Health Centre Building, 60 Hip Wo Street, Kwun Tong, Kowloon. The LD's Occupational Hygienist, Occupational Safety Officer and Occupational Health Nurse will give the talk.
The talks will be conducted in Cantonese. Admission is free.
