Police will implement special traffic arrangements in the vicinity of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre Phase II in Wan Chai on September 30 (Wednesday) and October 1 (Thursday) to facilitate the rehearsal and holding of the National Day Flag Raising Ceremony.
A. Special traffic arrangements for rehearsal of the Flag Raising Ceremony
- Public bus parking spaces, coach parking area and private bus pick-up/drop-off area at Expo Drive East will be suspended and Eastbound Expo Drive will be intermittently closed from 6am to 12.30pm on September 30.
B. Special traffic arrangements for the National Day Flag Raising Ceremony on October 1
1. Road closure
Expo Drive, Expo Drive Central and Expo Drive East will be closed to all vehicular traffic between 5.30am and 11am except for vehicles with permit.
2. Suspension of parking spaces
- The coach parking spaces at Expo Drive East will be suspended from 10pm on September 30 to 11am on October 1; and
- The public bus parking spaces and private bus pick-up/drop-off area at Expo Drive East will be suspended between midnight and 11am on October 1.
Actual implementation of the traffic arrangements will be made depending on traffic and crowd conditions in the area. Motorists are advised to exercise tolerance and patience and take heed of instructions of the Police on site.
