The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, met the visiting Chief Justice of the People's Republic of China and President of the Supreme People's Court, Chief Justice Zhou Qiang, at the Chief Executive's Office this morning (September 25) to exchange views on issues of mutual concern.
Mr Leung said that Hong Kong has all along maintained close exchanges with the Mainland of China and the world on legal matters. He said he hoped that Hong Kong and the Mainland of China could continue to promote judicial co-operation and mutual legal assistance.
He also said that Hong Kong's rich international experience in the areas of legal services and dispute resolution and our dual advantages of "one country" and "two systems" could complement our country's "Belt and Road" strategy, expand our high-end legal services and capitalise on the enormous development opportunities they offer.
