Public invited to watch 18 Districts Cheering Team Competition
***************************************************

The Youth Programme Co-ordinating Committee (YPCC) will organise the 18 Districts Cheering Team Competition through the Home Affairs Department (HAD) at the Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park Sports Cenre at noon on October 1. Members of the public are invited to watch the competition and enjoy the atmosphere of youthful vigour and excitement.

The competition is district-based, with one secondary school team and one primary school team coming from each of the 18 districts. Apart from gold, silver, bronze and merit awards, the participants will also vie for the best slogan, best formation and best costume awards.

To add colour to the event, the organiser has invited the Thailand national champion team to demonstrate and exchange their skills with local youths, so they can spread positive energy together.

Organised by the YPCC under the Commission on Youth and co-organised by the HAD and the District Youth Programme Committees of the 18 districts, the competition is not only one of the major territory-wide youth programmes of the year, but also a celebration event to mark the 66th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

Free tickets for the competition are available now at the Public Enquiry Service Centres of District Offices on a first-come, first-served basis while stocks last. For enquiries, please call 2835 1546 or visit www.nationalday66.gov.hk.
