Hospital Authority announces senior appointments (with photos)

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

     The Hospital Authority (HA) announced today (September 24) the appointment of Dr Beatrice Cheng as the Hospital Chief Executive of Ruttonjee and Tang Shiu Kin Hospitals and Tung Wah Eastern Hospital upon the retirement of the incumbent, Dr David Lam, and the appointment of Dr Man Chi-yin as Hospital Chief Executive of Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital (AHNH) and Tai Po Hospital (TPH) vice Dr Cheng's new appointment. Both appointments will take effect on December 1, 2015.

     Dr Cheng, a fellow of the Hong Kong College of Community Medicine, is currently the Hospital Chief Executive of AHNH and TPH. She had worked in the HA Head Office since 1995 co-ordinating various professional services and contingency planning for the HA. Dr Cheng was appointed Chief Manager (Cluster Performance) from 2006 to 2008. In her current position, Dr Cheng has successfully fostered and synergised partnerships with community stakeholders to enhance medical services and safeguard the community's health.

     Dr Man, a fellow of the Hong Kong College of Emergency Medicine, is currently the Hospital Chief Executive of North District Hospital. Prior to his current appointment, he was the Consultant (Accident and Emergency) of Prince of Wales Hospital and Hospital Coordinator (Clinical Services) of New Territories East Cluster during 2004 to 2008. In his current appointment, Dr Man has overseen the overall development and operation management of North District Hospital.
 
     The HA Chairman, Professor John Leong, and the HA Chief Executive, Dr Leung Pak-yin, wish both of them every success in their new positions.
