Territory-wide enforcement operation to promote Public Service Vehicles safety

     Police yesterday (September 22) concluded a one-week territory-wide enforcement operation to remind drivers of Public Service Vehicles (PSV), including public light buses, franchised public buses and taxis, of the importance of road safety.

     This was the latest in an ongoing series of operations conducted by the Police using enforcement to target moving traffic offences.

     The operation resulted in the issue of six verbal warnings, 119 summonses and 958 fixed penalty tickets.

     Among the 1 077 summonses and fixed penalty tickets issued, 112 were issued for seatbelt-related offences, 238 for speeding, five for offences related to construction and maintenance of vehicles, and 109 for using a hand-held mobile phone while driving.
