Following is the transcript of remarks by the Financial Secretary, Mr John C Tsang, at a media session in Hungary today (September 22, Budapest time):

Reporter: (inaudible)

Financial Secretary: Thank you very much for your question. In all this economic development, there are basically three most important criteria, and the three criteria are really location, location and location. I think in many ways Hungary is well situated in a very strategic location that would become a very useful, very constructive platform for a lot of Asian businesses to expand into the continent of Europe, and we want to grab hold of this opportunity. Time is of essence in terms of diplomatic relations between my nation, China, and Hungary. This is the best time and this is the momentum that we want to ride on so that we can achieve economic development in good time.

Reporter: (inaudible)

Financial Secretary: ... while I'm in Hungary, because this is a great opportunity. We're at the juncture of very massive change in the world economy, and this is an opportunity for us to enhance co-operation that we have between Hong Kong and Hungary in bringing about these new economic changes that we foresee. Hungary is the first country that signed a memorandum of understanding with China in implementation of the "One Belt, One Road" system and this is something very powerful for the economic development of our future, and we look forward to working very closely with Hungary. We think Hungary is a platform going to Continental Europe, and hopefully Hungarian businessmen will make use of the platform of Hong Kong to go into the rest of Asia. We look forward to working with the Hungarian Government and I had the great fortune of meeting with the Prime Minister today. We had extensive discussions on all the different aspects and ... extremely positive and I look forward to strengthening co-operation in the future. Thank you very much.
