Following is the transcript of remarks made by the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, at a media session on Asia Television Limited (ATV) today (September 21):
Reporter: (on ATV's new application for domestic free television programme service licence)
Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development: As I just indicated that the Communications Authority will handle this application in accordance with the established procedures. One of which is to look at the actual plan, the programme rollout, the financial capability and the technical capability of the applicant. So I'm sure all these factors will be looked at by the Communications Authority before they come up with a recommendation to the Chief Executive in Council. I'm sure they are very competent and very professional, they will handle this accordingly.
