The Civil Engineering and Development Department will arrange for the unloading of precast units at a works area in the harbour about 1 kilometre northeast of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from September 21 to 29. The precast units are for the construction of a sea wall as part of the Wan Chai Development Phase II project. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be installed to mark the boundary of the works area. A location map is attached for reference.
The unloading operation will be carried out by a flotilla of vessels comprising one semi-submersible barge, two crane barges, one work boat, four tug boats and two guard boats. Vessels engaged in the operation will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.
The unloaded precast units will be towed to a site in the vicinity of Expo Drive East. Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.
