HKETO, Brussels supports Hong Kong theatre company at International Festival of Contemporary Drama in Milan (English only)
******************************************************

Tramedautore, the annual International Festival of Contemporary Drama in Milan, Italy, is presenting Zuni Icosahedron's play "One Hundred Years of Chinese Architecture" today and tomorrow (September 11 and 12, Milan time), with the support of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Brussels.

Tramedautore is part of the cultural programme of Expo 2015 Milan this year. After the first part of the festival in July, dedicated to Italian contemporary theatre, the international section of the festival from September 11 to 29 is dedicated to China.

On today's opening night, Zuni Icosahedron, an international experimental theatre company from Hong Kong, will present its play at 6.30pm at the conference area of Cloister Nina Vinchi before giving the first performance at 8.30pm at the Piccolo Teatro Grassi. The second performance will take place at 8.30pm tomorrow.

The play, directed by Mathias Woo and written by Jimmy Ngai, portrays a crucial century for China and its architecture as told through the stories of two couples almost a century apart. Liang Sicheng, the Father of Modern Chinese Architecture, and his wife Lin Huiyin, the first female architect in China, dedicated their lives to the preservation of ancient Chinese architecture. Ms Zhang Xin and her husband Pan Shiyi, the most successful real estate developers in China, introduced Western hip, urban architecture to the country.
