Stage 1 Community Engagement for Planning and Engineering Study for Tuen Mun Areas 40 and 46 and the Adjoining Areas launched
***********************************************************

The Planning Department (PlanD) and the Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) have launched the Stage 1 Community Engagement for the Planning and Engineering Study for Tuen Mun Areas 40 and 46 and the Adjoining Areas today (September 7) to collect the public's views on the proposed land use for the Potential Development Areas (PDAs) in the Study Area. Members of the public are welcome to participate.

Tuen Mun Areas 40 and 46 will connect with the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Boundary Crossing Facilities and North Lantau via the Tuen Mun-Chek Lap Kok Link under construction, which will also link up with the proposed Tuen Mun Western Bypass to the Northwest New Territories. The enhanced accessibility of Tuen Mun Areas 40 and 46 will provide opportunities for optimising development potential. PlanD and the CEDD are conducting the Study to comprehensively plan for the development of the PDAs. It aims to formulate appropriate land use and development parameter proposals for individual sites.

The Stage 1 Community Engagement will last for two months. Activities will mainly include focus group meetings, a community workshop and consultations with the Tuen Mun District Council, the Tuen Mun Rural Committee and the Town Planning Board to collect the views of relevant stakeholders and the general public. Details of the activities and the Community Engagement Digest are available on the Study's website (www.tm4046.hk).
