Police will implement the following special traffic arrangements from 6.30am to noon on Sunday (September 6) in Central to facilitate the holding of a marathon event.
A. Road closure
- Edinburgh Place (east and north of City Hall) between Lung Wo Road and Connaught Road Central, except for vehicles leaving City Hall Car Park;
- Lung Wo Road between Fenwick Pier Street and Man Yiu Street, except for first left lane of westbound Lung Wo Road between Tim Wa Avenue and Edinburgh Place;
- Yiu Sing Street;
- Leftmost lane of eastbound Lung Wui Road around 30 metres west of its junction with Lung Wo Road; and
- Leftmost lane of southbound Man Yiu Street around 40 metres north of its junction with Lung Wo Road.
B. Traffic diversions
- Traffic along southbound Man Yiu Street cannot turn left to Yiu Sing Street and eastbound Lung Wo Road;
- Traffic along eastbound Man Cheung Street cannot enter eastbound Lung Wo Road;
- Traffic along northbound Edinburgh Place (east of City Hall) cannot enter westbound Lung Wo Road;
- Traffic along northbound Legislative Council Road cannot turn left to westbound Lung Wo Road; and
- Traffic along westbound Fenwick Pier Street cannot turn right to westbound Lung Wo Road.
C. Suspension of on-street parking
All metered parking space at the open area outside General Post Office, Lung Wo Road will be suspended.
Actual implementation of the traffic arrangements will be made depending on traffic and crowd conditions in the area. Motorists are advised to exercise tolerance and patience and take heed of instructions of the Police on site.
