Contractor fined for violation of safety legislation

Premier Cleaning Services Limited was fined $45,000 at Eastern Magistrates' Courts today (August 28) for violation of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance and the Construction Sites (Safety) Regulations. The prosecution was launched by the Labour Department.
The case involved a fatal accident that occurred on January 11 last year in North Point. A cleaning worker fell about 5.5 metres to his death from a glass canopy while he was conducting cleaning work.
