In response to media enquires, a Government spokesman said today (August 27) that the SAR Government has all along been committed to promoting communications between the Central Government and various sectors in Hong Kong, and has proactively arranged all Legislative Council members to visit the Mainland and meet with Central officials responsible for Hong Kong affairs.
"The SAR Government welcomed the meeting and exchange of views between the Deputy Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, Mr Feng Wei, and the Democratic Party. The SAR Government is aware of the meeting beforehand and will continue to promote communications," the spokesman said.
