Person collapsed case in Cheung Chau reclassified as murder

     Police today (August 26) reclassified a person collapsed case in Cheung Chau yesterday as murder.

     About 5.45pm yesterday, Police received a report from a 30-year-old woman that her two-month-old son collapsed inside their residence on Tai San Back Street. Upon Police arrival, the baby boy was found unconscious with face injuries. He was rushed to St. John Hospital and was certified dead at 6.54pm.

     Initial investigations revealed that the 30-year-old mother had suspectedly shaken her son.

     The mother and her 31-year-old sister were arrested for murder and misleading Police officers respectively. They are now being detained pending further enquiries.

     Active investigations by Regional Crime Unit, Marine are underway.
