Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Yuen Long this morning (August 24) in which an 83-year-old woman died.
At about 6.40am, when a medium goods vehicle (MGV) driven by a 57-year-old man was leaving a refuse collection station near Kin Tak Street, the MGV reportedly knocked down the 83-year-old woman.
The woman sustained multiple injuries and was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital in semi-conscious state where she was certified dead at 10.22am.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North are underway.
