Regarding the chronology report by North Lantau Hospital (NLTH) on an incident related to a collapsed person requiring medical assistance, the spokesperson for the Hospital Authority (HA) today (August 21) issued the following response:
The HA is very concerned about the incident and has received the chronology report from NLTH. The HA will ensure that the hospital will implement the improvement measures as soon as possible while expressing deep condolences to the relatives of the deceased.
There are established "Guidelines on Management of Persons Found Collapsed in Non-ward Areas and in the Vicinity of Hospital" in all HA hospitals and clinics. Hospital clusters have been reminded to enhance staff training and drills to ensure staff competence and contingency responses to render timely assistance to persons requiring urgent medical assistance in the vicinity.
