The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, met the visiting member of the United States (US) Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, Mr Cory Gardner, at the Chief Executive's Office this afternoon (August 21) to exchange views on issues of mutual concern.
Mr Leung said that Hong Kong and the US enjoy close economic and trade ties. Hong Kong, being an international financial and trade centre, can act as a "super-connector" for US enterprises to connect with the markets both in the Mainland of China and across Asia and open up more business opportunities.
He said he hoped that Hong Kong and the US could continue to maintain exchanges and contacts on various fronts.
