Water quality of Shui Chuen O Estate
************************************

In response to media enquiries about the water quality of Shui Chuen O Estate in Sha Tin, a spokesman for the Transport and Housing Bureau today (August 11) said that the Secretary for Transport and Housing, Professor Anthony Cheung Bing-leung had already stated in the press conference on August 7 that neither lead exceeding the World Health Organization standard was found in water samples from Shui Chuen O Estate nor was lead found in the soldering materials during water sampling tests and retests there. But as some organisations had found excessive lead from water samples of individual units, the Housing Department (HD) and the Water Supplies Department had conducted a number of sampling tests from the units concerned and found no samples with excessive lead.

The spokesman noted that up to August 7, the HD had completed water sampling tests for 33 projects from 25 public housing estates and eight projects were found to have excessive lead content in water samples.
