Eleven building plans approved in June

     The Buildings Department approved 11 building plans in June, with three on Hong Kong Island, three in Kowloon and five in the New Territories.

     Of the approved plans, three were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, four were for commercial developments, one was for factory and industrial development and three were for community services developments.

     In the same month, consent was given for work to start on 25 building projects that, when completed, will provide 177 603 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 2 690 units, and 112 839 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of work for 13 building projects.

     The department also issued 18 occupation permits, with seven on Hong Kong Island, two in Kowloon and nine in the New Territories.

     Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor area for domestic use was 274 224 sq m, involving 2 712 units, and 48 666 sq m was for non-domestic use.

     The declared cost of new buildings completed in June totalled about $10.3 billion.

     In addition, eight demolition consents involving eight building structures were issued.

     The department received 3 959 reports about unauthorised building works in June, and issued 664 removal orders on unauthorised works.
