Invitation for Leading Organisers for Hong Kong ICT Awards 2016
***********************************************************

     The Government is inviting proposals from organisations interested in taking part as Leading Organisers of the Hong Kong ICT Awards 2016.

     Steered by the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO), the annual Hong Kong ICT Awards aims at recognising and promoting outstanding information and communications technology (ICT) inventions and applications, thereby encouraging innovation and excellence among Hong Kong's ICT talents and enterprises in their constant pursuit of creative and better solutions to meet business and social needs. Over the years, the Hong Kong ICT Awards has developed into a renowned programme recognising outstanding ICT solutions invented and developed locally.

     This year, there will be eight award categories, after taking into account past participation, the latest technology trends and the need for a better focus to ensure the quality of the Hong Kong ICT Awards. A new award category, Best FinTech Award, has been introduced to encourage the development of FinTech solutions. To bring in more diversity, some award categories, like Best Digital Inclusion Award, will be run in alternate years.

     The eight categories of the Hong Kong ICT Awards 2016 are:

* Best Business Solution Award
* Best Digital Entertainment Award
* Best FinTech Award
* Best ICT Startup Award
* Best Lifestyle Award
* Best Mobile Apps Award
* Best Smart Hong Kong Award
* Best Student Invention Award

     Leading Organisers, which can be professional bodies, trade associations or other non-profit organisations, are responsible for recruiting and screening entries, promoting the Hong Kong ICT Awards through their networks and managing the adjudication process. They are selected through an open and competitive process on the basis of the quality of their proposals, capability and track record.

     Non-profit organisations that wish to become a Leading Organiser should obtain a proposal form from the secretariat office of the Hong Kong ICT Awards (email: info@hkictawards.hk). The deadline for submission is September 2, 2015.

     Further details are available from the dedicated website of the Hong Kong ICT Awards at www.hkictawards.hk. Enquiries can be made to OGCIO on 2582 4506 or by email to info@hkictawards.hk.
