The Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) today (July 24) invited tenders for the contract for construction of lifts for public walkways in the New Territories and Islands Districts under the Universal Accessibility Programme.
The works mainly involve:
* construction of 23 lifts for 10 existing footbridges and three existing subways in Islands District, Kwai Tsing District, Sai Kung District, Sha Tin District, Tai Po District, Tsuen Wan District, Tuen Mun District and Yuen Long District;
* associated civil works, geotechnical works, electrical and mechanical works and modification works for existing structures; and
* ancillary works including road, drainage and landscaping works.
The works are scheduled to commence in November this year for completion in May 2018.
The CEDD has commissioned Mannings (Asia) Consultants Limited to investigate, design and supervise the works. Interested contractors may obtain the tender forms and other particulars from the company at 5/F, Winning Commercial Building, 46-48 Hillwood Road, Tsim Sha Tsui.
The invitation to tender was gazetted today. The deadline for receipt of tenders is noon on September 4.
