The Financial Secretary, Mr John C Tsang, continued his visit to Fuzhou today (July 22), meeting local officials and visiting enterprises there.
Mr Tsang started the day by having a meeting with officials of the Fujian Provincial Development and Reform Commission, the Financial Affairs Office of Fujian Province and the Department of Commerce of Fujian Province to gain a deeper understanding of the propositions of Fujian Province on the "One Belt, One Road" initiative and the latest developments in the Fujian Pilot Free Trade Zone.
A lunch meeting was held with Hong Kong businessmen and representatives of Hong Kong enterprises in Fujian Province to enable Mr Tsang to learn more about the opportunities and challenges faced by Hong Kong business people there.
Visits to two enterprises specialising in online games and mobile Internet industries were conducted in the afternoon.
This was followed by a meeting with the Mayor of Fuzhou, Mr Yang Yimin. Both sides discussed the opportunities for enhancing co-operation between Hong Kong and Fuzhou.
Mr Tsang will visit the Fujian Pilot Free Trade Zone (Xiamen area) tomorrow (July 23).
