Red flag at several beaches lowered

Here is an item of interest to swimmers.

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (July 22) that the Environmental Protection Department has classified the water quality at Cheung Chau Tung Wan Beach and Kwun Yam Beach in Islands District as Grade 2; and at Ting Kau Beach and Hoi Mei Wan Beach in Tsuen Wan District as Grade 3, which means the water quality has improved and the beaches are suitable for swimming. The red flags have been lowered.

     The red flags were hoisted at these beaches earlier due to the water quality being classified as Grade 4 and unsuitable for swimming.
