Following is the transcript of remarks made by the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, at a media session on the proposed establishment of the Innovation and Technology Bureau after attending the meeting of the Finance Committee of the Legislative Council (LegCo) today (July 18):
Reporter: How confident do you think the item can be passed in October and which parties would you approach to get their support?
Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development: I am confident that everybody wants the best for Hong Kong. I think the Innovation and Technology Bureau is appropriate and is really the way forward. I think everyone agrees with that direction. Therefore, I will and my colleagues will continue to liaise with the LegCo members. Hopefully that when we come back and everybody is onside, we can push ahead with this agenda.
