Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tin Shui Wai last night (July 17), in which a 54-year-old woman died.
About 9.30pm yesterday, a light goods vehicle driven by a 42-year-old man was travelling along Tin Shui Road towards Yuen Long. When approaching near Light Rail Tin Yat Station, it reportedly knocked down the 54-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious head injuries, the woman was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital in unconscious state where she was certified dead at 10.15pm on the same day.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic New Territories North are underway.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries.
