The children's dance theatre production "Hands of the Mermaid" (in Cantonese), featuring dance, sign language and rhythm, will be staged next week. Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the show is free and admission is on a first-come, first-served basis. Details are as follows:
1. July 21 and 22 (Tuesday and Wednesday)

Produced by iStage, this production is inspired by the famous story "The Little Mermaid" and tells the adventure story of the merman Toto. The Little Mermaid was in love with the handsome Prince. In order to see the Prince, she visited the Sea Witch to exchange her beautiful voice for legs. Unfortunately, the Prince married someone else. Heartbroken, the Little Mermaid dissolved into foam in the sea. Years later, the Marine Kingdom has set up countless rules to prevent a similar tragedy from happening, making life miserable for the naughty merman Toto. One day, Toto encounters a young witch who suffers discrimination due to the Little Mermaid's sad story. He decides to use the witch's magic to travel back in time to change their fates.
There will also be interactive sessions during the show and children may learn sign language with the merman Toto. Children may also take part in the marine animal handicraft stalls outside the performing venues to create cute marine animal finger puppet toys.
