Retired professional basketball superstar Yao Ming will meet about 1,400 secondary school students and teachers in Hong Kong on July 16 (Thursday) to share the experiences of his athletic career and pass on some of his basketball skills.
"Yao Ming and You: Close Encounter with the Living Legend" is organised jointly by the "Passing on the Torch" National Education Activities Platform, the Hong Kong-Shanghai Economic Development Association and the Education Bureau. The activity aims at promoting positive attitudes and values among students.
Through dialogue with the participating students, Mr Yao will encourage them to set worthy goals and work hard to achieve them. He will also inspire the students to think about life planning from different angles.
The activity will be held at Southorn Stadium, Wan Chai. Mr Yao will take the opportunity to coach elite student basketball players in front of the audience.
