Tropical Cyclone Linfa roundup

     The Hong Kong Observatory replaced the No. 8 Northwest Gale or Storm Signal, issued at 4.40pm today (July 9), by the No. 3 Strong Wind Signal at 10.10pm as Tropical Cyclone Linfa is moving away from Hong Kong.

     While the No.8 Northwest Gale or Storm Signal remained in force, a total of two reports of fallen trees were received.  No report of flooding or landslide has been received.

     As at 9.45pm, a total of 247 people have sought refuge at the temporary shelters opened by the Home Affairs Department. As at 10.20pm, 23 shelters are still in operation.

     According to the Hospital Authority, as at 10pm, no injury related to the Tropical Cyclone was reported.  

     The Airport Authority Hong Kong reported that a total of 520 flights to and from Hong Kong were or will be rescheduled during the period of 7pm today and 6am tomorrow (July 10).
