Police appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in Tseung Kwan O

     Police today (July 7) appealed to the public for information on a fatal traffic accident in Tseung Kwan O on July 1 in which a 74-year-old woman died.

     At about 6pm on that day, a private car driven by a 32-year-old man was travelling along the northeast bound of Chiu Shun Road. When reaching near the roundabout linking to Po Ning Road, it reportedly collided with a bicycle ridden by the 74-year-old woman.

     Sustaining head and limb injuries, the woman was rushed to Tseung Kwan O Hospital in conscious state and was later transferred to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in unconscious state for medical treatment. She was certified dead at 12.55am on July 5.

     The driver was arrested earlier for dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries and is required to report back to Police in mid-July.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East are underway.
