Regarding media enquiries concerning the fire incident in the Formosa Water Park in New Taipei City of Taiwan, the Immigration Department (ImmD) today (June 28) responded as follows:
The ImmD is very concerned about the fire incident in the Formosa Water Park in New Taipei City of Taiwan, and had immediately contacted the Hong Kong Economic, Trade and Cultural Office (Taiwan) (HKETCO) for information and follow-up. The ImmD will deploy officers to Taiwan today to visit the injured and to assist their families.
Until 1pm today, the ImmD confirmed four Hong Kong residents were injured in the incident so far. The ImmD had contacted the families of the injured and rendered practical assistance according to their wish and situation. The ImmD will continue to keep close contact with HKETCO and the families to monitor the situation and render practical assistance.
