Shoeian Kyoto Bakery announced today (June 15) that it has opened a flagship shop in Hong Kong, its first outside Japan, leveraging the city's strategic location to expand its business in Asia.

The new bakery shop is located in North Point and provides high-quality breads, with some of the ingredients imported directly from Kyoto, the President of Shoeian Kyoto Bakery, Mr Keiji Matsunaga, said.

Mr Matsunaga said, "We received an incredible response from visitors at our tasting event at the Hong Kong International Bakery Expo last year. We can see a huge demand for healthy and high-quality baked products in the city."

He added, "Hong Kong's unique location in the heart of Asia plus easy access to the Mainland and other Asian countries makes it the best place for us to develop our franchise business and manage our operations in Asia. That's why we decided to set up here as the springboard to expand our business in the region."

Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion Mr Jimmy Chiang said, "Apart from local customers, Hong Kong offers millions of visitors from around the globe who are here to look for quality food and shopping. Our city presents an excellent platform for overseas companies, like Shoeian Kyoto Bakery, that are targeting Asian markets, to promote their products in the region."
