Police arrested a 34-year-old man yesterday (June 6) in connection with a murder case in Sheung Shui on May 13 in which a 34-year-old woman died.
Police received a report from a 50-year-old man on June 4 that he had lost contact with his 34-year-old female neighbour since mid-May.
Upon investigations, Police arrested the womanˇ¦s 34-year-old boyfriend for murder on San Cheung Street yesterday. It is believed that he strangled the woman after a dispute with her in a unit at the above location in the small hours of May 13. He later buried her body in an open space on Tin Ping Road.
Police located the body of the deceased on Tin Ping Road today (June 7). Post-mortem examinations will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of her death.
The arrestee is being detained for further enquiries. Active investigations by the District Crime Squad of Tai Po are under way.
