*******************************************

The Secretary for Education (SED), Mr Eddie Ng Hak-kim, will today (June 6) lead a group of university students to join a one-day visit programme to Huizhou and Shunde in Guangdong Province in an effort to promote career and life planning education for students.

Organised by a Mainland enterprise, the career and life planning education programme is open to students of Hong Kong universities as an opportunity for them to learn more about the latest developments, technology and environmental protection measures in the Mainland construction sector. Some 50 students from a number of universities have enrolled in the learning programme.

During the visit, the participants will be able to opt for related courses based on their own interests, such as marketing innovation and investment strategies. They will also take the opportunity to see the construction work of real estate projects and meet with senior management of the enterprise for an update on the latest property market developments on the Mainland.

Accompanying Mr Ng to visit Huizhou and Shunde will be the Political Assistant to the SED, Mr Jeff Sze. They will return to Hong Kong tonight.
