Appointment of directors of Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company

The following is issued on behalf of the Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited:

     The Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited (HKCMCL) today (June 5) announced the appointment of a new director and re-appointment of three serving directors to its board of directors for a term of two years from June 5, 2015, to June 4, 2017.

     The new director is Mr Lau Chun-kong, a chartered surveyor. The three re-appointed serving directors are Mr Douglas So Cheung-tak, Mr Peter Yan King-shun and Dr Edwin Lee Kan-hing.

     With the new appointment and re-appointments, there will continue to be 13 directors on the board. The new board comprises a good mix of expertise from the business community and the information and communications technology (ICT) industry.

     "With the vision, leadership and expertise of the directors, we will continue to achieve Cyberport's mission of fostering ICT talents and start-ups and driving technology development in Hong Kong," a spokesman for HKCMCL said.

     HKCMCL also expressed gratitude to the outgoing director, Mr George Hongchoy Kwok-lung, for his valuable support and contribution to Cyberport over the years.

     HKCMCL is one of the three private and wholly owned companies set up by the Government under the Financial Secretary Incorporated to oversee the development, operation and management of the Cyberport Project. The board of directors provides policy and strategic guidance to HKCMCL on its business development, as well as oversight over corporate performance and governance.
