SCED concludes visit to Germany (with photos)
*********************************************

The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, conducted the last day of his visit to Berlin, Germany, on June 2 (Berlin time).

In the morning, Mr So visited Adlershof, a leading science and technology park in Germany hosting about 1,000 companies and 16 scientific institutions. The three start-up centres based at Adlershof offer a wide range of services for start-ups relating to technology development, co-operation, financing, controlling, marketing and distribution. He met with executives there to promote Hong Kong as an ideal place for investment.

Mr So then visited a German company that works on solutions for affordable charging infrastructure. Noting that Hong Kong is starting to ride the global trend of start-ups, Mr So said the city possesses all the favourable conditions for both local and overseas quality start-ups to flourish. He also introduced the promotion of the use of electric cars in Hong Kong, and encouraged the German company to seize the business opportunities in Hong Kong.

On the same day, Mr So attended a high-level lunch co-organised by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Berlin and the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry. He took the opportunity to discuss with German entrepreneurs ways to foster closer co-operation between Hong Kong and German enterprises.

Mr So will next travel to Paris, France, to attend the Ministerial Council Meeting (MCM) of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) on June 3 and 4 (Paris time). In the evening on June 3, Mr So will attend a ministerial dinner hosted by the Netherlands, the Chair of the 2015 OECD MCM.
