Roving exhibition for 50th anniversary of Dongjiang water supply to Hong Kong to be held from tomorrow
**********************************************************

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Dongjiang water supply to Hong Kong, the Water Supplies Department is organising a roving exhibition in various districts from tomorrow (June 1) to September 21 to introduce the history of the Dongjiang water supply, the related infrastructure development and the water quality monitoring and inspection work by the Guangdong and Hong Kong Governments.

Through the display of valuable historical photos, the exhibition will provide an opportunity for members of the public to look back nostalgically on the water rationing days in Hong Kong and the undertaking of Dongjiang-Shenzhen Water Supply Scheme by the Guangdong Government half a century ago. Visitors will be able to appreciate the efforts of their predecessors for ensuring a reliable water supply and recognising the importance of water resources development and protection.
